Dudes of Cool, 3/4
Where should Brian May fall on a World's Greatest Guitarists of All Time List? It is heartwarming to listen to the band debate the merits of Sergeant Pepper vs. Revolver, or sigh in unison at the recording experiments of Muse, or groan at the latest Jonas Brothers magazine cover. I remember in 2006, when they were each attempting to coax a semblance of melodic structure from their respective instruments. There have been galaxian leaps of improvement for each of them, but to hear Josh then...and now: it is beautiful.
Right now, there is a little boy - or girl - out there, being born, who is someday going to say Josh Pryor is one of the most shredding guitarists ever. Maybe even better than Brian May.
As an aside: you know what? Fan though I am of Mr. May, I would rather hang out with Mr. Prior any day of the week.
Except Tuesdays. I would reserve Tuesdays With Brian.
